In addition to providing tax services on your phone, Let’s Get Set also works with three primary groups to provide additional tax preparation services on your computer or in-person.
The IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
The VITA program is a collection of different organizations and non-profits who provide free tax preparation services for families and individuals making less than $60,000 a year. Volunteers from the community assist in preparing tax returns after getting certified by the IRS. The IRS has helped support this program for over 50 years and last year helped 2 million taxpayers across the country.
GetYourRefund
GetYourRefund.org is a non-profit service built by Code for America in partnership with the IRS with support from the White House and U.S. Department of Treasury. They partner with VITA programs around the country to provide virtual tax preparation services.
MyFreeTaxes
MyFreeTaxes.com is a non-profit self–tax-preparation service provided by United Way Worldwide. United Way provides MyFreeTaxes in partnership with the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to help filers prepare their tax returns on their own or have their return prepared for them for free. Since their launch in 2009, MyFreeTaxes has helped more than 1.3 million taxpayers.
